The USS Cole (DDG 67) is the second ship that has this name, it is an Arleigh Burke class Aegis-equipped guided missile destroyer and it is homeported in NS Norfolk, Virginia. The name Cole is in honor of a machine-gunner Marine Sergeant Darrell S. Cole, killed in action on Iwo Jima on 19 February 1945.
