USS Cole (DDG-67)
The USS Cole (DDG 67) is the second ship that has this name, it is an Arleigh Burke class Aegis-equipped guided missile destroyer and it is homeported in NS Norfolk, Virginia. The name Cole is in honor of a machine-gunner Marine Sergeant Darrell S. Cole, killed in action on Iwo Jima on 19 February 1945. The USS Cole was built by Ingalls Shipbuilding and was delivered to the U.S. Navy on 11 March 1996.
