On the 1st of June 2009 Air France Flight 447 an Air France Airbus A330 en route from Rio de Janeiro Galeão Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport GIG SBGL to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport CDG LFPG crashed into the Atlantic Ocean killing all 216 passengers and 12 crew. The investigation concluded that the aircraft crashed due to an aerodynamic stall. This stall was preceded by inconsistent readings from the pitot tubes of the aircraft.
