The C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft initially designed and built by Lockheed, now by Lockheed Martin. The aircraft is used primarily by the United States Air Force mainly for troop transport, medical evacuation and cargo transport. The C-130 Hercules is one of the most versatile cargo transport aircrafts in operation. Is able to use unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings and its used also as a gunship AC-130, search and rescue, for airborne assault, weather reconnaissance, scientific research, maritime patrol, aerial refueling and firefighting.
This versatility made the C-130 Hercules one of the most used military airlifters in the world. The more then 40 models and variants of the C-130 are used by approximately 60 nations in the world.
