At the airport
- 3 August 2016 - Emirates Flight 521 operated with a Boeing 777-300 aircraft registered as A6-EMW crash landed at Dubai International Airport. According to initial reports the aircraft's landing gear collapsed upon landing.
Flights that originated at Dubai International Airport
- 19 March 2016 - Flydubai Flight 981 operated by a Boeing 737-800 from Dubai International Airport to Rostov-on-Don suffered a fatal crash during a second landing attempt in bad weather at Rostov on Don Airport. The airplane carried 55 passengers and 7 crew, all of them perished in the accident.
