The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a fly-by-wire regional jet airliner built by russian aerospace company Sukhoi in cooperation with Boeing and other western partners. The airliner fits into the 75 to 95 seat category being the first new russian designed airliner in the past 20 years. Development was started in 2000 and the maiden flight of the type was performed on 19 May 2008. The first commercial revenue flight was performed on 21 April 2011 by launch customer Armavia from Yerevan to Moscow.
