The Volkswagen Arteon is a five door fastback car manufactured by Volkswagen based on the Volkswagen Group MQB platform. The Arteon was unveiled on 6 March 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show and at the Chicago Auto Show for the market in North America. The Arteon is the direct successor of the Volkswagen CC although it was going to be more upmarket than the CC.

History

Based on the 2015 Volkswagen Arteon concept and positioned above the Volkswagen Passat in the Volkswagen product line, the Arteon was presented to the public on 6 March 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show. In 2018 it made its debut also in the United States at the Chicago Auto Show. The delay for North America was due to unspecified issues with the emissions testing. The first vehicles arrived in the United States in April 2019 and around the same time it became available in the Canadian dealerships as well.
