Barcelona-El Prat Airport (IATA: BCN, ICAO: LEBL) (Catalan: Aeroport de Barcelona - el Prat, Spanish: Aeropuerto de Barcelona-El Prat) is the second largest airport in Spain after Madrid Barajas and the 20th busiest in the world. The airport, simply known as Barcelona Airport is also the main airport of Catalonia. It is located about 12 km (7.5 mi) southwest of the centre of the city of Barcelona, lying in the municipalities of El Prat de Llobregat, Viladecans, and Sant Boi. It's the main base of low-cost airline Vueling and a hub for Iberia Regional and Ryanair. Barcelona Airport was a hub for Spanair before it suspended services on 27 January 2012. |
