2015

• 25 October 2015 - Air Dolomiti replaces Lufthansa on the route to Munich Airport MUC EDDM

2016

• 19 January 2016 - Wizz Air announces that it will start operate a flight to Bucharest Airport starting from 22 July 2016. The flight will be operated six times a week (no flight on Saturday) and will depart Cluj at 20:35 with arrival at Otopeni at 21:25. The return flight will depart from Bucharest at 21:55 and land at 22:50.
• 5 February 2016
  1. Blue Air announced that it will start operating flights from Bucharest to Cluj Napoca International Airport starting with 3 June 2016
  2. Lufthansa announced that starting with 23 May 2016 will introduce a third frequency on its route from Munich to Cluj Napoca. The new flight will be operated by its subsidiary Lufthansa Cityline from Monday to Friday with the schedule MUC 14.35 - CLJ 17.15 and the return CLJ 17.55 - MUC 18:40
• 18 April 2016 - Tarom announced a new route from Iasi Airport to Istanbul Ataturk Airport via Cluj Airport^source. The flights will be operated from 1 June 2016 with a frequency of 2 flights per week: Wednesdays and Saturdays departing at 20:45 from Cluj to Istanbul (arrival at 22:30) and with return flight from Istanbul to Cluj departing at 23:15 and arriving at 01:05. Status: Tarom decided to cancel the route in light of the imminent start of the same route by Turkish Airlines
• 10 May 2016 - Turkish Airlines announced that it will start operations to Cluj Airport as soon as there is available aircraft
• 18 May 2016 - According to insider information the Istanbul Ataturk to Cluj route by Turkish Airlines should start on 30 May 2016 with an initial frequency of 3 flights a week. The schedule is: TK1047 - Istanbul Ataturk – Cluj 09:30 – 11:00, TK1048 Cluj – Istanbul Ataturk 11:55 – 13:35 ^source
