- 8 March 2014 - Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, the aircraft has not been found since (July 2014)
- 17 July 2014 - Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down in the vicinity of Donets, Ukraine. The aircraft was performing a scheduled passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur International Airport KUL WMKK.
