The Beriev Be-200 Altair is a russian built multipurpose amphibian aircraft. The aircraft was designed by the Beriev Aircraft Company and was built by Irkut. The Beriev Be-200 is intended to serve as a fire fighting, search and rescue, maritime patrol and even passenger transport aircraft. The 320 model was introduced in March 1984 and first flew on 22 February 1987. It was the first model of the A320 family which also includes the A318, A319 and the A321. Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, shortened MH17 or MAS17 also codeshared as KLM Flight 4103 or KL4103 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. On the 17th of July 2014 the aircraft performing the flight, a Boeing 777-200ER registered 9M-MRD crashed in the vicinity of Hrabove in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, approximately 42 km from border with Russia. On the 24th of March 2015, Germanwings Flight 9525? (4U9525) operated by Germanwings with an Airbus A320 registration D-AIPX crashed in the South of France near Prads-Haute-Bléone while en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf.
